Tuscany is a popular tourist destination and a picturesque rural region to the west of central Italy. Known for its exciting history, lyrical landscape, medieval architecture and sun-lit vineyards, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful travelling spots. Tuscany is home to the Chianti region renowned for its production of red wine. Its boundaries are not clearly defined, but in general, it spreads north of the cities of Florence and Sienna. Chianti is the area between the two cities spreading to the east towards Valdarno and to the west towards Val d’Elsa. The sub-regions of Florentine Chianti and Sienese Chianti are used in particular to designate the wine’s origin.
Tuscany is definitely one of the most popular gourmet destinations. The local cucina is packed with pasta, seafood, olive oil, dried ham and typical meals are seasoned with basil and parmesan – one bite will make you crave for more.
Vila Vivaio is very close to a small town called Radda, part of the Chianti region, whose medieval architecture and traces of stone town walls will charm every tourist. Make sure you visit the Government Building in the historical centre, the San Niccolo Church, the Museum of the Sacred Art and the Ice House.


One of the most beautiful churches – Pieve of San Leonido – stands on a hill near the town of Panzanno, halfway between Sienna and Florence. Built from the remains of the Panzanno castle, this church is popular due to its fascinating history. The works of art and the magnificent Mariotto di Nardo altar inside the temple are definitely worth the visit.
